1. NETAPP power-on sequence:

  1. Power on the disk shelves in numerical order, then power on the controllers after about 20 seconds.
  2. Power on the servers using the storage.

Power-off sequence:

  1. Shut down all hosts using this storage (in my opinion, just stop the relevant applications and disconnect from the NAS).
  2. Log into the storage system via serial port or telnet.
  3. Enter "halt" (for dual controllers, enter "halt -f"), returning to the "CFE>" or "LOADER>" state.
  4. Enter "halt" on the other controller's terminal, and wait for it to return to "CFE>" or "LOADER>".
  5. Power off the controllers, then power off the disk shelves in order.

2. HITACHI power-on sequence:

  1. Confirm that the "Main Switch" on the front of the controller is in the "Off" position.
  2. Connect and turn on the expansion cabinet power.
  3. Connect and turn on the controller power.
  4. Turn on the "Main Switch".
  5. Wait for the storage to finish auto-starting. (If a yellow alarm light is on after power-up, please confirm whether it's the "Charge" status light, which indicates the backup battery hasn't been charged for a long time and hasn't reached the required voltage. Once charging is complete, the alarm will clear automatically.)

Power-off sequence:

  1. Confirm that the host has stopped accessing storage disks (including but not limited to closing databases, unmounting file systems, Varyoff VG).
  2. Turn off the "Main Switch" (controller front panel) and wait for the device to power down, which takes about 5 minutes. Confirm the "POWER" indicator is off.
  3. After the above steps, the storage has been powered off. If you are not performing power modification, supply maintenance, or other tasks, ignore the following steps.
  4. Check the "Cache Power" indicator status on each controller. If it's still on, it means the power-off did not end normally; analyze the specific cause.
  5. If the "Cache Power" indicator is off, power off the controllers, then power off the expansion cabinets in order.
  6. Try to unplug the power cords to prevent current pulses from damaging the machine when power returns.
