Fujitsu DX80 Power-On and Power-Off Procedures

Power-on notes:

1. After powering on, the device takes about 3 minutes to become ready (for example, the "READY" light comes on). If errors are detected during the power-on diagnostic phase, this process can take up to 10 minutes.
2. Before starting the related hosts, check that the device, Fibre Channel switch, and Fibre Channel hub are all ready. If the related hosts boot when these devices are not ready, the hosts will not detect the device.
3. The first time the device starts up, it runs a set of factory-preset programs.

Boot Steps:

1. Press the controller's power switch and wait for the power indicator to light up. If there is an expansion cabinet, it will power on automatically; no need to press the power switch.
2. After a few minutes, check whether the controller's "READY" indicator is on.
3. Check that the power indicators and "READY" indicators of all controllers and expansion cabinets are on.

Power-off notes:

1. After powering off the device, power can be cut only after the data in cache has been written to the hard disk. Therefore, the device batteries need 1–6 minutes to fully shut down.
2. Do not power off the network devices and storage connected to the host while the host is still operating, or data loss will occur.

Power-off steps:

1. Press and hold the controller's power switch for at least 4 seconds, and wait for the controller's "READY" (not "POWER") light to go out.

Note: Press the controller's power switch only once. If you press the power switch again between the "READY" light going out and the power indicator going out, the device may be powered back on.

2. Wait for the "POWER" indicator to go out — the device has finished powering off. If there are expansion enclosures, they will power off automatically; you do not need to press the power switch.
